Teddy Duncan chose wrong.

Teddy Duncan, one of the smarter Disney Channel girls, made the mathematically incorrect choice in secrets. While Duncan is smart and talented most of the time, maintaining an A average, taping vlog videos, giving good advice, and staying out of trouble for the most part, she does have one weakness: boys.

For context, a few episodes ago she broke up with her boyfriend, Spencer, because she caught him "cheating" on her. My stance on teen dating and "cheating" notwithstanding, breaking up with him was the smart thing to do. Teddy is smart and popular, so her social standing in school should not falter too badly, and because he cheated, Teddy had the upper hand.

One car crash, star-spangled failure, and Halloween scare later, Teddy is careless and allies for a job where she will have to kiss Spencer in a play. This gives her great conservation, and her parents generously give her a car so she can quit the job (she wanted to buy a car). However, that fake kiss with Spencer "unlocks" something within her: true stupidity. Teddy basically asks her mom, who confirms that if she were to date Spencer, the car would go away. However, because of her strong feeling for Spencer, she decides to date him and tell her mom, with Teddy fully believing she would lose a car.

That is the worst deal in the history of deals. It mathematically doesn't make sense. There is a 2% chance that the relationship works out, and in her brain, a 100% chance she loses a car. It's not like Teddy is at a loss for guys; she can pick them up whenever she wants, and her strike range would be exponentially larger with a car. She could make more friends, more money, and more HS political power with a car, and she throws it all away for a guy she called a scumbag two seconds ago? Why? Because he kissed well, and the person he cheated with lives in NYC? Sure, it works out for messy to keep BUT pay for the car, but now she has to go to work and school with Spencer, meaning they will break up 2x faster. Makes no sense whatsoever.
