 Hello OdysseyBoiers today I am talking about the 4th wall breaking, physics breaking episode that should not be canon. Episode 167  Dobson comes to town.


Background:

    First imagine Kristen family listening to this episode in 1995.  A large family on a farm who listens to audio drama.  Her family wakes up early in the morning to milk the cows and at 9:30 in the morning goes to the radio to listen to the broadcast and hears a full 30 min ad for a television show about Odyssey. 


Problems:

First of all poor Kristen just wasted 30 min of her time when she could be doing something else, and this episode also breaks the 4th wall (runs over it with a tank in actuality) breaks the laws of the Imagination Station, and the laws of physics. Last of all if you cut out the entire ad for the show you get a 5min drama that goes something like this.   

Dr. Dobson comes in.

Eugen/Connie: Who are you? (Basically) 

Dr. Dobson: No one knows who I am.

Eugene: I am in the play. 

Connie: I hate how Eugene thinks he is better than me because he is an actor.

Eugene: Stop getting so annoyed. See Dr. Dobson she is touchy. Also I am smarter than she is so I am in the play.  

Dr. Dobson: As one of a ''higher intelligence'' you should not bring it up when Connie is around and Connie don't be so touchy. 

Eugene: Oh you are right. Wow.

Dr. Dobson: I'm Dr. Dobson

Roybn: I have seen your books Dr. Dobson my parent listen to your radio program: (She has a problem but will not tell Dr. Dobson)

Later Dr. Dobson sees Dale who says he is busy and Dr Dobson convinces him to spend more time with Roybn. Dale also asks also of Focus related questions including the move to Colorado. 

(It is noted Dr. Dobson sounds like Mr. Whittaker.)

Basically the episode sans the tv stuff is a 5min episode, but it gets worse/funnier. Mr. Whittaker mentions the name of the program (Adventures in Odyssey) and that they and the the name of the first TV episode. (Knight travelers) Whit also says they are producing the episode in Whit's End which does not make sense which means the episodes are not canon. 


Physics Breaking

    The way Dr. Dobson gets home is through the Imagination Station which breaks Imagination Station laws, and the laws of physics. The Imagination Station has never transported people places and it is a VR (Virtual Reality) program. If Whit could teleport people with the station why is it just being used to tell Bible stories. Why is this tech not in airports. Novacom would not work because it was mind control not teleportation. It also breaks the know laws of physics (a tiny piece of matter has been teleported but not a person). It is just confusing and breaks the laws of physics and the Imagination Station.

    Sometimes I mess up small. But sometimes I mess up really big. The problem is, none of us can be good enough for God’s perfect heaven. The Bible says that the tiniest bad thing – even just a bad thought! – is enough to make everyone in the whole world guilty. That’s you. That’s me! Guilty people have to be punished. The punishment for sin (our badness) is being separated from God forever when we die. In hell we would be far away from His love. That’s bad news! But God didn’t let the story end there. He wanted to make a way to get rid of that horrible punishment so people could be with Him in heaven forever. But how?

    Sin doesn’t go away on it’s own. Somebody has to pay for it. Who could it be? God knew there was only one choice: His own Son Jesus. Jesus came to earth and did something we could never do: He obeyed perfectly. He never messed up. He never even had a bad thought. But He still took the horrible punishment for sin by dying on the cross. God put all of His anger on Jesus. Jesus didn’t deserve that! Why did He take the punishment for something He didn’t do? He did it so that you and I don’t have to. You mean we don’t have to pay for our own sins? Now that’s GOOD NEWS! 

    Jesus didn’t stay dead. After three days He rose again to show everyone He has the power to give eternal life. If we trust in Him, God has no more punishment for us. Instead He offers us eternal life in heaven. When Jesus takes the sin out of our hearts He puts something else in it’s place: His perfect life. God sees Jesus’ goodness in us instead of our badness. Jesus’ good days cover all of our yucky days.

   
He takes our bad out and puts His good in. Do you still mess up sometimes? Me too. But now we can have something we didn’t have before: forgiveness! Pray and ask God to forgive your sins because of what Jesus did. Instead of being guilty you’ll be forgiven. Now that’s not just good news – that’s the BEST news! Does Odyssey...Know What The NSA Does?

 The NSA, is America's famed digital spy agency.  Up until recently, the government denied it existence. However, we now have information about what they do and don't do. However, does Odyssey know this? Their go-to spy character, Jason Whittaker, works for the NSA but does the job of the FBI, NSA, CIA, and potentially the DIA.      Jason Whittaker plays a pivotal role in the Balackaard saga as a counter-terrorism agent investigating Red Scorpion in a Name not Number. The NSA does not really have counter-terrorism agents traveling all over the globe, however, they do have agent swho travel to spy on the communications networks of other countries. Tasha could have been doing thas and the agency sends Jason over there to rescue her so that is feasible.      In another episode, Jason produces a device that can hack into a computer via an IR port. The Heavens Declare: Tech

             The Heavens Declare...that AIO is full of overlapping technology. Adventures in Odyssey released their latest episode 'The Heaves Declare' to the club on Friday. However, the tech used in the episode is interesting.       Rene Carter talks about the new gallery, which is enhanced with Imagination Station tech. This turns the talking picture frames....into a really big room with people in it...but why when the Room of Consequence already exists?? The episode has Rene talking to various historical Christian scientists, but it doesn't make sense that the room of consequence could not be used for that instead. Very interesting.
